Located in Melbourne’s Brighton East, this contemporary four-bed home is one of timelessness, simplicity and agility. The project perfectly demonstrates the dynamic power of a synergetic partnership between expert design collaborators and architects.
The home strikes an unforgettable first impression with the grandeur double-height entry hall, accessed through a lush and well-groomed garden path and a large oak door.
Upon entrance, one will be guided by white painted brickwork, timber ceilings and concrete floors. Though minimal and simple in its palette of materials, Brighton East 2 still exudes a sense of bold playfulness through the practice of form-making. Illuminated by the Orbit Wall Light, one of the home’s statement features is the sculptural steel staircase connecting the ground level to the upper.
On the ground floor, the layout is sectioned by a spine that divides private spaces, consisting of the wine cellar, gym, laundry and pantry, from the communal areas, such as the open kitchen, living room and home office.
Throughout the home, the Titanium Downlights work to meet general lighting needs. Simultaneously, the Shift In, with dual gimbal, flexibly accentuate paintings and interior features of Brighton East 2.
