Last night Unios Founder, Paley Ho, was awarded the WA Business News 40under40 Award.
Since 2002 the 40under40 Awards have accumulated over 700 winners who have each inspired and demonstrated true Western Australian entrepreneurship within their chosen field. Established by Business News, the programme recognises and celebrates Western Australia’s 40 leading business entrepreneurs under the age of 40.
There was an abundance of outstanding businessmen and women in the room worthy of the opportunity to be awarded – with entrance fields ranging from philanthropy, finance and urban planning. Past winners have represented a variety of industries, including business, the arts, academia, technology and service to the community.
Paley Ho had a vision to build a nationally recognised lighting brand from Perth. This intent was met with challenge, as the industry is traditionally dominated by a handful of players and is more centralised in New South Wales and Victoria. Paley wanted to disrupt the industry with design, performance and value. Unios’ mantra stems from this – a brand that sits at an intersection between the top and bottom tiers, a universal light.
With strong brand recognition in Australia and a growing foothold in New Zealand and Indonesia, Paley aims to expand further into South East Asia and into Europe in the next few years by designing innovative products that the world hasn’t yet seen.
The award recognises Paley’s passion and vision to build a nationally recognised lighting brand. The Unios team are exceptionally proud of Paley’s achievement, which demonstrates his determination, commercial drive and entrepreneurial achievements.
